GOODWIN, BEATRICE "BEA" S. - Beatrice “Bea” S. Goodwin, 90, of Monarch Hall, Riverview and formerly of Reade Street, Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday evening, December 30, 2011. Born in Millville, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Daisy (Love) Braun. Bea was a retired schoolteacher having taught several years at Queen Elizabeth School in Moncton, she was a member of the New Brunswick Retired Teacher’s Association and a member of St. Philips Anglican Church and the A.C.W. within the church. Bea’s hobbies included pen pals from around the world, scrap booking and keeping her daily journal and diary. She was a collector of dolls, spoons, salt and pepper shakers, cups and saucers; she enjoyed socializing with her friends and spending quality time with her family. Bea will be sadly missed be her sons, John (Liz), of Halifax, NS, Robert “Bob” (Shirley), of Quispamsis and Ron (late Linda), of Berry Mills; precious grandchildren, John, David, Danny, Jennifer, Jason, Maureen and Trevor; cherished great-grandson, Jeffrey; sister, Jessie Medel, of Moncton; sister-in-law, Mavis Braun, of Moncton; brothers, Rev. Harold Braun (Carol), of Saint John and Clair Braun (Joyce), of Fredericton; brother-in-law, Ken Fowler, of Stratford, ON; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John R. “Jack” Goodwin (1998); grandson, Thomas; brother, Glenn; and sister, Pat.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Brent Ham officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
