Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, Gerald P. Butler of Harbour Grace, age 78 years. Predeceased by parents: Jack and Nellie; brother: Jim and sister: Marcella; brothers-in-law: Fred Ezekiel and Fred Connolly; nephew: Paul Butler. Left to mourn, wife: Bride; three daughters: Geraldine (Claude) Parsons, Victoria; Rosemary Butler (Brian Callander) and Colleen (Keith) Young, both of Alberta; two sons: Gerard and Sean, both of Harbour Grace; five grandchildren: Blair (Cathy), Blake, Holly (Thomas), Emily and Amy; five great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Kelsey, Parker, Summer and Jaxson; one brother: Kevin (Judy), Gander; two sisters: Marguerite (Charlie) Birkel, Bangor, Maine and Alice Ezekiel, Gander; sister-in-law: Lillian Deering, Freshwater, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Father William Pearce conducted the funeral mass on Saturday, December 31 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Grace. Inurnment to take place at a later date.
