Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Jan. 2, 2012, Mr. Robert Porter of Bear Cove, NL, in his 83rd year. Robert’s memory will be cherished by the family he left behind children John (Pauline), Vince (Diane), Wilb (Joyce), Mary (Dave), Mable (Andrea), Jill (Stan), and Bob; his grandchildren Dena, Kristine, Lisa, Tracy, Dede, Jennifer, Andy, Rodney and Myles, and nine great-grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife Olga in 2004. Visitation was held at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Bear Cove, from where the funeral took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4 with Rev. Rowlands officiating. Burial took place in the church cemetery immediately following the service. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
