The death of Clyde Raymond Wood, 81, of Springhill, occurred on Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center. Born in Springhill, Clyde was a son of the late Alfred and Inga (Olsen) Wood.
Clyde had been a linesman for CN for over thirty years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty-seven years, Grace (nee Livingstone); four sons, Raymond of Springhill, Gordon (Vanda) of Amherst, Harry (Ruth) of Springhill and Wayne of Riverview; two daughters, Shirley (Peter) Duscharm of Kirkland Lake, ON and Jean (Ron Emery) Wood of Springhill; six grandchildren, Michelle, Brandon, Kelsey, Michael, Kevin, and Caitlin; three great-grandchildren; three brothers; one sister; many nieces and nephews;.
Besides his parents, Clyde was predeceased by two sisters, and one brother.
Honoring Clyde's wishes, his remains have been cremated under the care of AH Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (597-2361). Visitation will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 1 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 pm. Burial to be in the Hillside Cemetery in the Spring.
