COATES, ALTON E. - Alton Coates, 82, of Scoudouc Road, NB, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre following a short illness. Born July 13, 1929 in Lowell, Mass., he was the son of the late Bamford Coates and the late Sarah Price. Alton was a retired auto mechanic. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time outside at his camp. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Irene (Bourque); his four children: Nancy Welling (Dean) of Shediac Cape, David (Nancy), Brian (Claudette) and Garry (Janice) all of Scoudouc; six grandchildren: Travis, Amanda, Sarah, Amy, Shawn and Cindy; three great-grandchildren: Dominique, Patrice and Sasha; two sisters: Louise Coates of Shediac and Jean Mahaffey of Burbank, CA, many nieces and nephews. A brother, Ralph, predeceased him.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Shediac. From where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 4 p.m. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. to time of service.
