Passed peacefully away on Monday, January 9, 2012 at her residence in Nanaimo, BC, after a courageous battle with cancer, Anne, aged 64 years. Anne was the daughter of the late Jim and Cecilia (nee Conway) Beehan. Left to celebrate her life with wonderful memories her loving and devoted husband Bryan; son Jonathan (Tine); daughters: Silya (Kacper), Kaya (Franc) and her precious grandchildren: Madeline, Chloe, Benjamin and Evan; brother Jim (Margaret Ann Power); sisters: Eleanor (Peter Geary), Brenda (Derm King), Madonna (Terry Pike); special sister Bernadette; brother-in-law Michael Wiggens (Judy) and family of New Zealand; nieces and nephews: Jason and Jennifer Geary, Heather and Alyson King, Maria and Carolyn Beehan, Raylene and Christopher Pike; aunts: Mary Kearney, Stella Conway and Eva Beehan and her lifelong friend and spiritual adviser Monsignor James Doody. Also leaving to celebrate her life a large number of other relatives and friends especially her close circle of friends in Nanaimo, BC. As a young child Anne possessed exceptional qualities that she exhibited her whole life. She was talented and determined. She did well in school both academically and musically. From an early age Anne wanted to become a physiotherapist and subsequently graduated in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 1967. Throughout her life she cherished her high school days at Holy Heart of Mary in St. John’s, NL and her “Dal” days in Halifax, NS. Prior to moving to London, ON in 1982 and Nanaimo, BC in 1984, Anne worked as a physiotherapist at The Grace and St. Clare’s hospitals and in home care. Anne enjoyed her work that brought healing and strength to her many patients. She loved life, the companionship of family and friends, the beauty in people and nature and had a very special place in her heart for animals. She had a phenomenal sense of humor and was unbelievably courageous. Anne was fiercely independent and handled life’s many challenges, including her cancer, with grace and dignity. She was artistic and creative and enriched our lives in so many ways. Anne was a wonderful, loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Anne, you will be forever remembered and forever loved. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, Nanaimo, BC (www.sandsfuneral.com/nanaimo) on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. and in Newfoundland at a date to be announced in June, 2012. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to your local S.P.C.A.
