HENNESSEY, David James - 83 of Kingston, Kings Co. passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in his home. Born in New Victoria, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Denis & Mary (Hare) Hennessey. David was retired from the Canadian Navy & the Canadian Air Force; member of the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church; friend & neighbor of Martha Nesbit; enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren & family. He also enjoyed his time at the shore, playing crib, doing crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, fishing & time with his dog, “Babe”. David loved working in his yard. He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters, Debbie (Guy) Castilloux, Ompah, Ont.; Deanne (Sylvain) Roy, Durley, Conn. USA sons, Denis (Nancy), East Gore; David, Cambridge; Danny (Pam) Waterville; Derrick (Jody), Calgary, AB.; Darren (Margaret), Kingston; grandchildren, Erin Hennessey, Ryan Hennessey, Derrick Hennessey; Danielle Campbell; Denise Hennessey; Trisha Castilloux, Patrick Castilloux; Todd Hennessey, Shannon Hennessey, Josh Hennessey, Sophia Hennessey, Abigail Hennessey, Tommy Hennessey, DJ Hennessey, Katie Hennessey; Jeremy Roy, Jason Roy, Janessa Roy, Susan Hennessey, Jesse-Ann Hennessey; great grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, Jasmine, Evan, Bronson, Cadence, Breanna, William, Brooklyn & Hunter; sisters, Margaret (Henry) Seward, Port Coquitlam, BC and Dolores (Frank) McNeil, New Victoria, Cape Breton. David was predeceased by sisters, Alice Cameron, Mary Chaisson, Frances MacDonald; brothers, Denis & Jerry. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook. A memorial service was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan 14, 2012 in Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Greenwood, Father Gerald Saulnier officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. A reception followed the service in the Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston. No visitation by family request. Family flowers only.
