Peacefully at the QE II, Halifax, on Jan. 13, 2012, of John W. Sherry with his loving family by his side, of Fernwood, age 69. Husband of the late Eileen (McKenna) Sherry; dear father of Jason (Darla) and Amy (Bob); beloved grandfather of Olivia, Sophie, Alexis, and Braden and their mother Rachel. John was the last surviving member of the late William and Alice (Walsh) Sherry. He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Edna (Louis) McKenna, Vera (Brendan) Sherry, Freda (Everett) Muttart, Noreen (Borden) Greenan, Wilena (Peter) MacDougall, Keith Sherry, Clifford Sherry, Shirley Sherry, mother-in-law and father-in-law Helen and Edward McKenna, and their sons Kevin and Merlin McKenna. Survived by sisters-in-law Paulette Sherry, Judy Sherry, Marina McCabe, Carol Ann McCabe, Janet (Blair) MacDonald and Mary McKenna. Uncle John is remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Resting at the Lawless Funeral Home, 21 Somerset St., Kinkora. Visiting hours Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay. Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Interment in St. Malachy’s Church Cemetery, Kinkora.
