Theresa M. Burns
1929 - 2012
Theresa M. Burns, age 82 of Amherst, passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center on Monday, January 16, 2012. Born in Little Cape, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Lucy (Jacob) Legere.
During her younger years, Theresa was employed at Christie Trunk & Bag. She was a faithful member of the Holy Family Parish, as well as a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Theresa will be sadly missed by her daughter Irene (Ed) Chevarie of Amherst; granddaughters, Nathalie,and Rachel; brothers, Lorenzo (Mary) of Moncton, Henry (Doris Ann) of Amherst, and Paul (Beverly) of Baie Verte, NB, sister-in-law, Jean Legere; brother-in-law, Gordon Edgett, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Checker"; sisters, Roberta Corbett, Rosella "Rosie" Edgett; and a brother, Ronald.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst (902-667-8777) from where visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 6:30 - 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Holy Family Parish on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11 AM. Those wishing to make a donation in Memory of Theresa may do so to Palliative Care Cumberland.
