A good man has passed away. Ian passed suddenly at his home Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, with his wife, Jeanette, by his side.
He was predeceased by his mom and dad, Ethel and Andrew Caldwell, Sydney Mines.
Ian was very proud of his three daughters that he raised; his Amy Elizabeth (Jess), Tina (Bruce) and Cathy (Gordon). He was much loved and respected by his stepchildren, Ian (Jillian), Yvette (Leamon) and Eric. He was Grampy to Jesse and Adrienne, Rhynda and Ian, William, Archer, Scotia. He also leaves behind his brothers, Wallace (Lynda) and Andrew (Annette); his sisters, Anne and Becky (Donnie) and also his nieces and nephews including his special nephew, “Shann The Man Lavatan”.
Ian absolutely loved his job at the Caisse Populaire de Clare, his members and his co-workers. Throughout his life, he was very selfless and always put others before himself. He had been actively involved in various organizations through the years. Even in death, he will be helping others by being a donor.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Meteghan Funeral Home. A celebration in memory of Ian will be held in the Stella Maris Church in Meteghan Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at 2 p.m.
Donations in Ian’s memory may be made to the Clare Lions Hockey Team at any Caisse Populaire de Clare branch.
