Theresa Rosalie Barney, aged 67, passed away after a brief illness on December 29, 2011 in Nanaimo surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Theresa’s wishes were to be buried near her mother and father, so she returned home to T’ít’q’et on January 3, 2012.
Theresa is survived by her loving children: Pam Perry, Nathan Perry and Mary Barney; grandchildren: Johnny Blakeborough, Nahema Barney, Lord Brandon Sachkiw, Lord Christopher Sachkiw, Rainbow Perry, Charlie Perry, David Perry, Crystal Perry, Christian Perry, Marrie Perry, Dakota Perry;
Theresa is survived by: Brothers: William Barney,
Vincent Barney, Herman Barney; Sister’s: Mathilda Barney, Gertrude Barney; and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa is predeceased by: Father: Peter Michael; Mother: Philomena Barney; Brother’s: Retasket Saul, Frederic Barney; Sister’s: Laura Barney, Madeline Barney, Mary Morgan, Rosie Saul, Philomena Barney.
Theresa requested a Traditional Funeral Service, which was held at the Ucwalmicw Centre on January 6, 2012 at 10:00 am.
