Speir: James Speir, age 81, of Success, SK. passed away January 13, 2021 in Regina. SK. The memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 23, 2012 from the Success Community Hall with Marvin Auseth leading service. A duet was preformed by Larry and Bev Caswell and special music was provided by Lisa Kornfeld and Josh Phillips. The life tribute was read by Marvin Auseth and the ushers were Stan Day and Gerald Schultz. Honorary pallbearers were the Success Coffee Club and all those who shared in his life. Jim was born on November 29, 1930 in the Tyner District. He attended school at Clytha and Cabri School. Jim farmed and ranched in the Success area for many years and was working with Freddie and Pearl Mitchell. He was a member of the Sask Landing Roping Club, Success Roping Club, Success Hall Board and the South Saskatchewan Sight Hound Association. Jim also enjoyed coyote hunting, hound racing, curling, attending local rodeos and volunteering at the Frontier Day Rodeo for many years. Music was Jim's life passion and he played guitar with many musicians and bands over the years. His grandchildren where a great source of pride and joy for Jim and he treasured all of them. Jim will be laid to rest with his infant son, Ward, at Clearwater Cemetery at a later date. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Annie; his children Debbie and Wes (Sarah) beloved grandchildren Josh, Tyrel and Hannah; his brother Bob; sisters Pete, Nora, Beth and Marion and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and many friends. He was predeceased by his son Ward; brothers Sandy, Bill and Jock; sister-in-law Elsie; brothers-in-law Raymond, Russ and Tom. Jim will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. In his memory, memorial donation may be made to the Prairie Pioneer Lodge Alzheimers Unit.
