ROSS, MARY CATHERINE - Mary Ross, in her 100th year, widow of Donald Ross, passed away January 29, 2012 at the Turnbull Nursing Home, Saint John. She was born November 28, 1912 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Albert and Ethel (Johnston) Hinchliffe. In her early years, Mary resided in Saint John, moving to East Riverside in 1950. She was employed as a legal secretary with the late Mr. Justice W.A.I. Anglin as well as the firm of Palmer, O'Connell, Leger, Turnbull and Turnbull. Mary was a member of St. David's United Church, Rothesay, St. David's U.C.W., Saint John Naturalists Club and the NB Federation of Naturalists. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Ross (Oliver Conway), of Vancouver, Keltie Gibbon (James) of Rothesay; one son, D. Scott Ross (Joan) of Waterford; three grandchildren, two great granddaughters, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude and Alice and one brother, Bruce.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. The funeral will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at St. David's United Church, Rothesay. Interment in Hampton Rural Cemetery, NB at a later date.
