Edith Holloway
Edith Irene Holloway, 83, of Springhill, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the Late Charles A. and Bertha J. (MacKenzie) Sterling.
She worked at MacLean's and Oxford Frozen Foods for many years. She was a valued member of the Salvation Army for over 50 years where she was a Sunday School teacher, Home League Treasurer and League of Mercy Worker (hospital visits). She enjoyed her family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her son Brian (Sheryl) Holloway, Springhill; daughter, Bonnie (Frank) de Jong of Powell River, BC; brother, George (Hazel) Sterling, Springhill; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her special cat Sam.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Herbert Holloway Jr.; brother, Les; sisters, Olga, Verna and Eleanor.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2 PM from the Springhill Salvation Army Citadel. Captain's Chad & Kathleen Ingram officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
