Leon Stringer passed away peacefully on January 25, 2012 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. He is survived by his two daughters and one son. Diane(Dale) Cole, Madeleine (Bill) Breckon and Allain Stringer. Grandchildren: Brent (Rachel) Lloyd, Lisa (Tyler) Wiens, Neal (Melanie) Breckon, Reginn Stringer and Cassandra Stringer. Great grandchildren: Haley & Zoey Lloyd, Maiah Wiens, Morgan, Abby, and Jack Breckon. He has two remaining sisters Cecile George and Agnes Nogue and three sisters-in-law Cecile Reeve, Arda Legault and Marguerite Scherle. Leon was born to Henri & Jeanne Stringer on September 10, 1927 in Ponteix, Sk. He was the second youngest of 14 children. Leon married Irene (Legault ) in 1948. They were blessed with four children. Paul , Diane, Madeleine and Allain. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Irene (1999) his son Paul Stringer (2007) his son-in-law Lee Lloyd (1989) his daughter-in-law Lorraine Stringer (2009) and his grandson Chad Lloyd (2003). Dad was a farmer all his life and loved it. He enjoyed the life he provided for his family, he loved working the land and raising his cattle. He enjoyed the times with his family and friends, playing games and cards or just visiting with them. He especially liked it when the little ones would come and he could share a chocolate bar with them. When dad's health was starting to fail he moved to Swift Current for a short time until such a time when his health worsened and he moved back home to Ponteix at the Foyer St. Joseph. We would like to thank the Foyer for all their love and care during his stay there. The funeral service was on Tuesday Jan 31, 2012 at Notre Dame d'Auvergne Catholic Church in Ponteix with a prayer vigil on Monday Jan 30, 2012. The interment was at the Ponteix Cemetery. The cross bearer was Cassandra Stringer. The Ushers were Jaimey Stringer and Neil Therrien. Pallbearers were Brent Lloyd, Neal Breckon, Tyler Wiens, Reginn Stringer, Ron Legault and Maurice Stringer.
