Gary Burke Maddison of Salmo, B.C. passed away suddenly at the age of 55 between Nelson and Salmo on October 25th, 2006. Gary worked in the industrial supply industry, and enjoyed spending most of his time with his wife, children and grandchildren, which often involved working on his many creative home projects. Gary was born to John and Beatrice Maddison on May 18th, 1951 in Blairmore, Alberta and is survived by his wife Mary Jane of 23 years and her son Jody, his daughter Jill of Cranbrook, his son Mickael (Kimberly) of Kamloops, his four granddaughters (Jade, Emma, Faith and Kate), his four sisters (Carol of Salmo, Brenda of Castlegar, Christine of Maple Ridge and Elaine of Pitt Meadows) and their families and his three brothers (Ralph of Pitt Meadows, Kenneth of Campbell River and Bruce of Calgary) and their families. The funeral took place at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate in Nelson, B.C. as directed by Thomson Funeral Services, followed by the reception at "The Hume Hotel". Those who knew Gary best will remember him as a man of strength and determination who spent the majority of his energy caring for others with his warm heart and friendly smile. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the BC Cancer Society.
