“To Shirley, Dwight and extended family, my sincere condolences to you all.

As I think of Uncle Henry, I'm reminded of his big smile, his yearly Christmas cards, and his strong faith. His visits to my home were always welcomed. I remember his visit and the support he gave our mother and family when Anton (my father) passed away a little over fifty years ago.

I remember when I was about 12 years old, the summer our family drove from BC to Moose Jaw to visit Uncle Henry, Aunt Anne and Shirley. We went to a nearby lake for a picnic and a swim. The lake was crowded. Uncle Henry was the only one wearing an "old fashioned" bathing suit - one that had straps over his shoulders. He didn't care and was oblivious to the stares. He enjoyed his swim.

I remember his garden when we visited in 1988. He was up in his apple tree when we arrived. We got a tour of all the plants and had a lunch of cheese, bread and salad greens.

My hat is off to a life well-lived.
    Once again, my condolences.
    With love,
    Marion”
