It’s with great sadness that the family of Roger Covin announce his sudden passing on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Ernest and Josephine (Wyrwas) Covin.
Roger enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by two sons, Roger (Allison) and Gregory (Natasha); two granddaughters, Ashley and Norah; his former wife, Elaine Covin, and his partner Shirley; three brothers, Hubert (Sandra), Terry and Leo (Josephine); four sisters, Evangeline (Robert) Crane, Charlotte (Allie) Ley, Patricia MacLean (Billy), Cathy Covin (Brian); and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Crystal, and his brother, Clifford.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday Feb. 3, 2012, at the funeral home chapel. There will be a reception following the service. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
