The death occurred suddenly as the result of an accident in Toronto, Ont., on May 31, 2008, of John James Wilfred Wedge of Toronto, Ont., and formerly of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 55 years. John was born in Summerside, P.E.I., on December 23, 1952, and is the eldest son of Jack and Phyllis (nee Gallant) Wedge. He leaves to mourn his longtime partner and friend Jeff and brothers and sisters: Mary (Mike) Hennessey of Charlottetown, Cyndria of Charlottetown, Kenton, Alexander (Julie) and Paul of Summerside and George (Shelley) of Scarborough, Ont. Also lovingly remembered by his fourteen nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sister Jane Elizabeth. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Monday, June 9, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in John's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
