It is with great sadness that the family of the late GEORGE E. WALTERS of Fortune, announces his passing at The Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Monday January 30, 2012 at the age of 83. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are Wife Dora of 64 years; Sons Freeman (Alma) of Fortune, Frank (Elizabeth) of Port au Chois, and Gilbert (Partner Elizabeth) of Wellington, N.S.; Sisters Carrie (George) Smith of Grand Bank, and Robert Maceachern of New Waterford, NS; 7 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by daughter Joy, parents George & Myrtle Walters, and brother Frank Walters.

Funeral Service took place on Thursday February 2, 2012 at 2:00pm from The United Church in Fortune. Interment followed at United Church Cemetery in Fortune. In George’s memory donations may be made to The United Church Cemetery Fund or flowers gratefully accepted.
