BURNS, REGINA "JEAN" - 1910-2012 - The peaceful passing of Regina "Jean" Burns (Donahue) of Fredericton and formerly of Blackville NB occurred at the Pine Grove Nursing Home on February 2, 2012. Jean was born August 10th, 1910 in Blackville and was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Colford) Donahue. Jean attended St. Dunstan’s Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, survived by only several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William B. Burns, one son Lewis, daughter Sylvia Masson, an infant daughter Leona, five sisters, four brothers and a son-in-law Fred Masson.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, where visitation will take place on Friday, February 3rd 2012 from 7 to 9 PM only. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 4th 2012 at 2 PM from St. Dunstan’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Bill Brennan officiating. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
