Marie Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Campbell, 91, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully after a short illness Jan. 29, 2012, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She was born in Church Point, on Dec. 5, 1920, to the late Philippe and Eliza (Deveau) Thibault. Betty was predeceased by her husband of nearly 70 years, Clifford ‘Kip’; brothers and sisters, Louise, Joseph, Artenise, Lucille, Émile, Johnny, Victoria, Marie and Jacqueline. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Blinn, Grosses Coques, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Weymouth. She lived her life with Cliff quietly but was always ready with a fresh pot of coffee and a sweet for those who dropped by to visit. Betty loved to tend her flower gardens and she was an expert tatter, creating many beautiful pieces of art work. Funeral mass will be held Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Weymouth, with Rev Keith Billard officiating. Donations may be made in Betty’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
