Munro-Lynch, Shirley Annette — 57, of Garlands Crossing, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, with her family by her side, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on March 20, 1954, in Cogmagun, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Fraser and Doris (Monteith) Sanford. Shirley loved doing carpentry renovations at home and could handle a saw better than most men. She loved reading, crocheting and quilting. Shirley also adored her dog, Baby; and her cat, Misty, who will really miss her. She was very loving to her family and they will miss her dearly. Surviving are her husband, Harold “Joe”; daughters, Elizabeth (Timothy) Porter, Windsor; Annette (Scott) Porter, Greenwood; Stephanie Munro (Ben McKinley), Windsor; step daughter, Bonnie Lynch, Ottawa; step son, Kevin Lynch, Bedford; grandchildren, Scotty, Brooke, Emma, Adrianna, Stephen, and Noah; brothers, Gary (Brenda) Sanford, Gerald (Pauline) Sanford, Wayne Sanford, Owen Sanford, all of Winnipeg; sister, Iva Brown, Truro; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Carol White, Kennetcook, who was like a sister to Shirley; brother-in-law, Jeffery Munro, Alberta; father-in-law, Arthur (Gloria) Munro, Windsor. Predeceased by her first husband, Stephen Donald Munro. Visitation was 2-4 p.m. Saturday, January 28, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, followed by cremation. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, Windsor, with the Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Donations in memory of Shirley were requested to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
