Daniel Charles “Danny” O’Rourke - 59, of Coldbrook, Kings County, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was the son of the late Robert and Truth (Moore) O’Rourke. Danny had been employed with Canada Post for over 37 years, retiring in 2011 due to ill health. He is survived by two sisters, Cathy-Lu O’Rourke, Kentville and Susan (Gerry) MacDonald, Dartmouth; a brother, Robert “Bob” O’Rourke, Kentville; a niece, Celeste MacDonald and a nephew, Patrick MacDonald; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 in St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, Reverend Lynn Uzans officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses of Medical B, as well as all the staff of the various departments within the Valley Regional Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to Danny. In addition, the kindness and thoughtfulness of Danny’s family and friends will always be remembered.
