Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on February 6, 2012, at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, Harry Burke, of Riverhead, S.M.B., veteran of WWII Royal Canadian Navy, aged 92 years. Predeceased by wife Janie, brother Francis and sister Adela. Leaving to mourn son Gerard (Daphne); daughters: Madonna (Lorne) Marsh and Elizabeth (Roy) Furey; brothers: Rev. Fr. Charles Burke, Kevin (Shirley) and Neil (Joyce); sisters: Moira Ness and Elizabeth Healy; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends especially Pat Daly, John Penny and Simeon Hefford as well as friends and caregivers at St. Patrick’s Home. Resting at Gibbons’ Funeral Home, St. Mary’s, on Wednesday, February 8, from 6 - 9 p.m. and Thursday, February 9, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Thursday, at 12:00 noon. at Our Lady of Assumption Church, St. Mary’s.
