Helen Anna Hodgson
Helen Anna Hodgson, in her 100th year of Tracadie, NS, passed away February 9, 2012 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Ogden, Guysborough County on March 10, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Daniel C. and Elizabeth (McAllister) Lawlor.
She began teaching at 16 years of age in Guysborough schools. She attended the Nova Scotia Normal College in Truro and taught for over 40 years in Antigonish, Guysborough and Inverness county schools. She was a member of the St. Peters CWL, Tracadie.
Surviving are: sons, Brian (Donna), Afton, and their family, Holly, Jimmie, Adam and Karla; son Raymond (Janice), Churchville, Pictou County, and their family Dan, Dave and Heather; daughter Anne, Merritt, BC and her family Stephen and Leah; daughter-in-law Rosemary, Burlington Ontario and her family Darren and Trevor, 17 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Crosley, son Donald, a son in infancy, three brothers: Roy, Raymond and Joe and sister Marie.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant Street, Antigonish. Mass of Christian burial 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at St. Peters Church, Tracadie, with Rev. John Barry and Rev. Wade DeCoste concelebrating. Burial in St. Peters Cemetery.
