Charles Victor Jeffrey, 49, of Stellarton, went to be with his Lord on Feb. 3, 2012, in the VG Hospital, Halifax. Charles was born on April 20, 1962. He was a son of Nola Jeffrey of Digby and the late Victor Jeffrey. For the past seven years he worked at Convergys in New Glasgow. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Antigonish, Truro Community Band, St. John Ambulance 701 in New Glasgow, and the Royal Canadian Legion, Dr. C.B. Lumsden Branch 74, Wolfville. Charles’ first passion was the navy. Some of the best years of his life were when he was a stoker. His second passion was music and he loved playing his bass and singing for the Lord. Left to mourn are his beloved wife, Roxana (nee Sullivan) Jeffrey; sons, James, Andrew (AJ) and Benjamin, and granddaughter, Adalynn, all of Stellarton; birth mother Kathleen Gorman, Newfoundland; birth father Alan Lawrence, Bible Hill; sisters, Jacqueline Riley-Turbitt, Windsor; Audrey (Steve) Fultz, Bible Hill; brothers, Jonathan Riley, Digby; Julian Riley, Windsor; William (Sue-Ellen) Lawrence, Maitland; and many nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by a sister, Jennifer Allen-Hart. There was no visitation. A memorial service was held Feb. 8 in Christian Fellowship Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Harvey Martell officiating. A second memorial service preceded by a Legion service was held Feb. 10 in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville, with Rev. Donald Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles memory may be made to the Canadian Blood Services.
