BATT, Phyllis Catherine (née Sansom) – Passed on February 1st, 2012. Phyllis passed away peacefully at the Craigdarroch Care Home in Victoria, BC. Predeceased by her husband Cluny Philpott (Bill) Batt, her father Edwin John Sansom, her mother Agnes Hilda Harvey, and her sisters Agnes, Rosamond, Margaret, and Leah. Survived by her sons: Robert Gordon Batt (Marie Cahill) and Gerald William Batt, and her grandson Christopher William Batt. The funeral service was held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Victoria, B.C., February 6. Born in St. John’s, N.L., in 1918, Phyllis grew up in Winterton, T.B., and later lived at 135 LeMarchant Road in St. John’s. After marrying Bill, they moved to Montreal, Que., where they brought up their sons and lived for many years. After the death of Bill, Phyllis moved to Victoria, BC, to be near her sons.
