COATES, EDITH - Edith Lillian Coates, 90, of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Center on February 12, 2012. Born in Knightville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Olivia (nee Anderson) Carll. She is survived by daughters; Shirley Douthwright of Sussex and Phyllis (Ora) Lackie of Smith Creek, son Carl (Margaret) Coates of Bonneyville, AB, 11 grandchildren, Michelle Douthwright (Eric Marceau), Michael Douthwright (Laureen), Danielle Wilson (Donnie), Matthew Douthwright (Stephanie Guay), Kim Lackie (Doug), Richard Lackie (Michele), Dennis Lackie (Julie), Peter Lackie (Sherrilyn), John Lackie (Shannon), Dean Lackie (Amy) and Derek Lackie (Holly), 10 great grandchildren, Dalton, Libby, Paige, Claire, Davis, Ruby, Scarlett, Hunter, Ethan, Lucas, Jacob, Taylor, Ashley, Caleb and Daxon, Easton, Hanna, Emily, Claire. She was predeceased by husband John Coates, and son-in-law, D. Spargo Douthwright.
The funeral service will be held at Sussex Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 11:00 am with Jeanette Cosman officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the The Gosline Cemetery or St. Paul’s United Church would be appreciated by the family. Interment will be held in the Gosline Cemetery at a later date.
