YOUNG, Frederick Arthur — 72, of Windsor, formerly of Centre Burlington, Hants Co., passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Centre Burlington, he was a son of the late Laurie and Leta (Card) Young. He had been employed with Fundy Construction for 21 years and retired as a carpenter at Dalhousie University. He is survived by his wife, Julia; sons, Shawn (Tracey), Glenn (Shelley) and Jason; stepchildren, Pamela (Timothy) Dimock, James (Bobbi-Jo) Marsters and Kimberley (Stephen) Smith; daughter-in-law, Sandra; sisters, Hazel Harvey, Rosalie Macumber, Juanita (William) Gallant; brother, Robert; granddaughter, Rachel; step-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nicole, Rebecca, Megan, Zoe, Nikki, Nicholas, Patrick, Amos and Hayley; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Winton; brothers-in-law, Raymond Harvey, Lester Sanford and Robert Macumber; step-son, Mark Marsters; and step grand-son Benjamin Marsters. Fred was happiest when he was with people, whether at the hockey rink, the store or Tim Horton’s, and always had a twinkle in his eye and a witty comment. His sense of humour and acceptance of everyone endeared him to all. Cremation has taken place with visitation Saturday, February 4, from 6-8 p.m. and a Masonic service, Shore Lodge No. 134 was held at 5:45 p.m. both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy. 215, Summerville. A celebration of his life was held in Kempt United Baptist Church in Summerville, Hants Co. at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 5, followed by a reception in Centre Burlington Community Hall. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to Centre Burlington Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice. Interment at a later date.
