TOUCHIE, D. ELAINE - D. Elaine Touchie, 85, of McNair Manor and formerly of Trites Road, Riverview, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, February 12, 2012. Born in Haverhill, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Jean (Gordon) Gillis. A retired registered nurse, she was a graduate of The Moncton Hospital School of Nursing (1947) and was a member of The Moncton Hospital Alumni, a Life Member of The Moncton Hospital Nurses Auxiliary and a member of the Retired Nurses Group. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and the Bethel Ladies Auxiliary, Riverview. Elaine will be sadly missed by her sisters, Audrey Ibbitson of Amherst, NS, Nita Gillis and Gerry Traves (Wes), both of Riverview; several nieces and nephews and many cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Gillis.
In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. Celebration of Life Service for Elaine will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 600 Coverdale Road, Riverview on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 am, Rev. Charles Cook officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Wilmot Cemetery. Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements.
