Carl Rodger Dorrington

Dorrington, Carl Rodger (Clyke) – 66, Truro, passed away on February 11, 2012 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born on June 24, 1945 in Truro, he was a son of the late Alexander and Aretta (Dorrington) Clyke. Carl worked as a bouncer in Truro and Halifax, and for many years operated his own business in Truro, Rodger’s Roofing and Siding. He also worked for the DND at both Camp Debert and the Truro Armoury on Willow Street for several years. He is survived by his daughter, Sonya Dorrington, Halifax; sons, Clarance Hughes and Trevor Tattrie, both of Truro; Devon (Sibley) Dorrington, Alberta; brothers, Creighton (Clyke) Dorrington, Sudbury, Ont; Graham (Clyke) Dorrington, Truro; Scott (Clyke) Dorrington, Halifax; sisters, Susan (Dorrington) Clyke, Wendy (Dorrington) Clyke, both of Truro; grandchildren, Anthony, Colby, Ebony, Morgan and Trenton; many step-grandchildren; nephew Isaac Clyke and many more nephews and nieces. Carl was predeceased by a son, Carl Rodger Dorrington Jr.; brothers, Denny (Clyke) Dorrington; Lane (Clyke) Dorrington; and Guy (Clyke) Dorrington. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16th from 7-9 p.m., with funeral service on Friday, February 17th at 2pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Pastor Brian O. Johnston officiating. Donations in memory may be made the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
