It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Oakley (Odie) P. Reid, 87, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, February 11, 2012, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Westcock, N.B., he was a son of the late Charles and Hazel (King) Reid.

Upon returning from his service overseas, he worked at Enterprise Foundry and then at Fawcett Foundry. He later moved to Hamilton, Ont., and worked for Silverwoods Dairy and Inglis Appliances. After his retirement; he fulfilled his lifelong dream of returning to Sackville. Oakley was an avid animal lover and was able to take care of some furry and feathered friends up until the end of his life.
Oakley will be sadly missed by his sister Hazel Marie Buck (Harold) of Hamilton, Ont. He also leaves behind two daughters, Nancy Boon (Geoff-deceased) and Judy (Bill) Butterworth; two grandchildren, Ryan and Janet and two great grandchildren, Kaidyn and Emerson; nephews Robert (Diane), Jim and Bill Reid, nieces Brenda (Donald) Phinney, Madeline (Gordon) MacDonald, Karen (Mike) Andreychuk, and the late Linda Lou and their families.

Very special thanks are extended to Oakley’s devoted friend Michael Elliott and Annemiek van der Plas. He also leaves behind his faithful dog companion Toby, who is now living with Mike Carson and his family.
