Margaret Evelyn Chapman
1932 -2012
Margaret Evelyn Chapman, age 79, of Amherst, passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Sunday, February 12, 2012.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Roland K. and Pearl (Bugley) Woodworth.
Evelyn married her late husband Carl in 1954 in Amherst. They moved to Queen Charlotte Islands in British Columbia in 1971 where Carl worked for MacMillian Bloedel. After his retirement, they moved closer to their son in Victoria, then finally back to Amherst Head where they were active members of the Sunrise Senior Citizens in Lower Shinimicas. Evelyn was a lady of endless hobbies who enjoyed music, spending time with friends, and going to the farmers market.
She will be missed by her son, Tony Chapman of Delta, BC; siblings Aubrey (Companion Evelyn) Woodworth, Hilden, NS, Victor Woodworth, Wentworth, NS, Vivian (Darrell) Myatt, Oxford, NS, Joyce (Craig) Colter, Smithers, BC, Warren (Bertha) Woodworth, Souris, PEI; sister in law Donna Woodworth, Amherst Head, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl E. Chapman; brother Carl Woodworth and Audrey (Basil) Morrison.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where a Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 2 pm, Minister K. Ruth Gamble officiating. All are invited to stay following the service for a reception and time of reflection.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ferguson and the Nursing Staff at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre for their care and kindness to her while a patient at the hospital.
