At the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home on Friday, February 17, 2012 of Joan M. Rice (Durant), age 67, of the Sherwood neighbourhood of Charlottetown.
Wife of Ronald F. Rice and mother of Jamie Rice (Andy MacLean), Gordon Rice (Katie Szczepaniak) and Jill Rice (Jim Carruthers). Nama to Simon MacLean, Rowan Carruthers, Julien Carruthers and Tommy Rice; sister of Carol MacLeod, Cathy Craig, Barb Whelan, Lisa Melanson and Michael Haynes all of the Saint John, NB, area. Fondly remembered by aunts Eleanor Durant, June Durant and Olive Bryanton and the extended Durant and Rice families.
No Visitation or funeral service by personal request. Family and friends are invited to a sharing of memories and a celebration of Joan's life at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, on Monday, February 20, 2-5 p.m.
If so desired, contributions to the Alzheimer Society of PEI or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
Interment will take place at a later date.
