Anne Uren 1924-2012
A resident of Kamloops for over 60 years, recently of Nanaimo, Anne passed quietly, at home, February 11, 2012.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Anne, and husband, Jim, lived for a short time in Orillia, ON, before settling in Kamloops and raising their three children. Declining health in recent years required Anne to leave her beloved Kamloops, to live elsewhere with family.
While in Kamloops, Anne was involved in decades of community work. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over fifty years, beginning her early volunteer work with their bazaars and making bandages for cancer patients. Anne led a 4H Home Arts Club, worked with YBC, and canvassed for numerous local charities' fund-raisers. Anne was one of the original Overlander Hospital Volunteers, giving hours of time to crafts, and being actively involved in outings for patients. She was a long-time member of the Kamloops District 5 Pin Bowling Association, helping to organize and coordinate many events. She enjoyed golf and fellowship at Quilchena. Anne loved and followed local, national and international sports and kept the rest of us up to date.
Anne was pre-deceased by husband, Jim, and four brothers. She is survived by her sister, her three children, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. She was "Auntie Anne" to many others. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's name can be made to the Overlander Extended Care Hospital Auxilary, or a charity of choice. A private, interment ceremony will take place at a later date.
