Ruth (Hoeg) Sichky
Lieu de naissance : Groves Point, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Lieu de décès : Sydney Mines, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de décès : 18 février 2012
It’s with heavy hearts we the family of the late Ruth (Hoeg) Sichky announce her passing on Feb. 18, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving family when she went home with her blessed lord and saviour.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Annie (Stubbert) Boutilier.
Ruth grew up on a farm in Groves Point. This fostered her love of animals and nature. A longtime resident of Alder Point, Ruth moved to Florence in 1972 where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law for the next 40 years.
There was nothing Mom liked more than baking and cooking, and also receiving cards and greetings from her Clyde Avenue Baptist Church family.
Ruth is survived by daughter, Marilyn (Adrian) Whyte, Florence; and son, Cyril (Rose) Hoeg, Alder Point. Mom’s legacy spanned six generations. She also shared a very special bond with her niece, Annie Reid.
Ruth was predeceased by Vince Sichky and Walter Hoeg, two sons, Spurgeon and Vincent, two daughters, Eileen and Verna, three grandsons, four granddaughters, two brothers, Robert and John Howatson and one sister, Stella Deveaux.
Visitation for Ruth will be held today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Clyde Avenue Baptist Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. David Hopper officiating. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery at later date.

Very heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paul Hickey, Laurie and all the outstanding professional care and love given to Mom during her last few years on 4 East at Northside General Hospital. We can never thank you enough!
Live by Mom’s words of wisdom — “be healthy, holy and happy”.
