At Queen Elizabeth 2 Hospital, Halifax, on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, of Alfred Deering Murray, Mount Pleasant, aged 78 years, husband of the late Bessie (nee Bridges). Born in Springhill on Oct. 8, 1933, son of Embleton and Lena (Waite) Murray. Dear father of David, Linkletter, and Paul (Darlene), Summerside. Loving grandfather to Trenna (John) Burke, Rose Valley; Rachel (Warren) Silliker, Cascumpec; Greg Bridges (Amanda), Ont.; Ben Bridges (Jessica), Slemon Park; Shannon Bridges (Jeffery) Ont.; Scott (Crystal) Murray, Cornwall; Matt (Jenna) Murray, Moncton; Rodney Murray, Stratford; and nine great-grandchildren. Alfred is survived by brothers Leland (Gertie), Summerside, and Ralph (Alice) Murray, Springhill. He is also survived by in-laws Lia Murray, Ellerslie; James (Annie) Bridges, Mount Pleasant; Henry (Donna) Bridges, MacNeills Mills; Leona Rayner, Summerside; and Gertrude Campbell (Lloyd MacDougall), Enmore. Predeceased by parents, wife Bessie, brothers Keith and Stanley, brother-in-law Winfred (Bertha) Bridges and sisters-in-law Alicia and Mabel Bridges. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Saturday 5-8 p.m. Funeral service on Sunday in the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the People’s Cemetery, Victoria West.
