PORELLE, MATHILDA - Mathilda Porelle, 87, wife of the late Ernest Porelle, passed away at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, on Sunday, February 19, 2012 where she resided. She was formerly of Cap-Pelé.Born March 11, 1924 in Amherst, N.S. she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Zelica (Landry) Melanson. Prior to her retirement she was employed with Cape Bald Packers. She will be sadly missed by her four daughters: Ernestine Brun (Alverie) of Cap-Pelé, Rita Gaudet (Normand) of Grand-Barachois, Zélica Landry (Alfred) of Cap-Pelé, Jeannette Cleveland (Todd) of Quispamsis; two sons: Éric of Haute-Aboujagane, and Edgar (Alice) of Cap-Pelé; three sisters: Rita Cormier of Shediac, Irene Cormier of Bas Cap-Pelé and Bernadette Bourgeois (Alfred) of Dieppe; a brother, Joseph of Waltham; 10 grandaughters; Lyne, Monique, Gaétanne, Marcia, Ghysline, Cézanne, Adèle, Rachelle, Nicole , Stéphanie; a grandson, Craig Smart; 11 great-grandchildren; Luke, Selena, Colin, Kierstin, Ryan, Nikki, Yannick, Sebastien, Alexi, Jasmine, Navaeh; and by many nieces and nephews. Mathilda is also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Alex, René, Edna Landry, Marguerite Landry and Rosée LeBlanc.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 2642 Acadie Street, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Visiting hours Wednesday, February 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY. The funeral service will be celebrated at Faith Life Church, 2800 Acadie Street, Cap-Pelé, on Thursday February 23 2012 at 11 am. Interment will be in Cap-Pelé. In memory of Mathilda, a donation to the Westford Nursing Home would be appreciated. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of the Westford Nursing Home for their loving and personal care they gave to our mother.
