Vera Tonge of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully at Pioneers Lodge on February 17, 2012. Vera was born April 27, 1918 at Sintaluta, SK. She was employed at Valley View Centre for 16 years. Vera was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #59 #1 Ladies Auxiliary. She is predeceased by her parents William and Elsie Gray, husband James Morley Tonge in 1987, grandson Daryle Williams in 1998, son-in-law Robert Neal in 2005, and son James Tonge in 2007; brothers Maurice, William, Victor, Lionel, and Alan Gray; and sisters-in-law Cora, Viola, Isabel and Edith Gray. She is survived by daughter Bonnie Neal; son Daniel (Sandra) Tonge; daughter-in-law Betty Tonge; sisters Winnifred Untereiner and Elsie McClelland; grandchildren: Robert Tonge (Loretta Parras), Denean (Greg) Hicks, Richard (Fran) Tonge, Michael (Ashley) Williams, Reagan (Louise) Tonge, and Darian Tonge; great-grandchildren: Liam and Olivia Hicks, Grayson and Reese Tonge, Raiya and Jaidyn Williams, Rylan, Logan, Danika, and Ronan Tonge; and many nieces and nephews. Vera cherished the love of family and friends. She had a strong faith and a love for life. Thank you to the Pioneers Lodge staff for the exceptional care given to Vera. The Celebration of Vera’s life will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel, on Tuesday February 21, 2012 at 1:30 pm. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery at a later date. For those so wishing donations may be made to Minto United Church, or a charity of choice.
