VIGER, ALPHONSUS JOSEPH - Alfie Viger passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Oromocto Public Hospital on February 21, 2012. He was the son of the late Joseph and Annabelle (Maskell) Viger. Alfie is survived by his wife Virginia (Thorne); son Joseph (Marion); daughters Marilyn McGrath (Brad) and Cheryl Hasson (John); grandchildren David (Stephanie), Adam (Amelia), Cindi, Tori and Sara; great grandchildren Madison, Logan, Mateo, Lana and Colton; his brothers George (Elsie), Freddy (Lynn); his sisters Norma Pougnet, Anne Marie Teskey (Bob), Shirley Holtz (John) and Mary Jo LeClaire (Wayne); brother in law Philip Duffley and sister in law Eleanor Viger as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his infant son Gerard, his brothers Charles (Dorothy), Stanley and his sisters Adeleine Duffley and Florence (Bill) Sherriff and brother in law Bob Pougnet.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 6 to 8pm with a Royal Canadian Legion tribute at 5:45pm with Sussex Branch #20. A Celebration of Alfie's life will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 3:00pm from the Wallace Community Chapel.
