February 15, 1949 – February 17, 2012.
It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the passing of Bob Symons. Losing his battle with liver cancer in Lethbridge, Alberta, Bob went peacefully surrounded by his long time companion of fourteen years, Rae Huber (of Lethbridge), his two sons Michael Todd Symons, and James Allan Symons, and niece Roxanne Wingert (all of Calgary). Surrounded with them was Michael’s common-law wife Kim Hieb and James' partner Luke Meier. Bob is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Egon Sargent (of Vernon, BC); sisters, Diane Hayes (of Westbank BC), Denise Chase and Karen Lizee (of Moose Jaw SK). Bob was very proud of his three grandchildren, Eric, Megan (Scarlett), and Tyler, as well of his great-grandson Dante (all of Calgary). Bob was still great friends with his ex-wife Shirley Symons Gordon (of Calgary). Bob had many nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Rosina Chartrand (of Calgary), and so many friends who will miss him dearly. Bob Symons was a strong man with a big heart, and he fought until the very end. We love you dad.
