Richard (Rick) Read, 58, passed away February 11, 2012 at home with his wife by his side in Lillooet, B.C.
Born March 15, 1953 in Edmonton, Rick spent the first part of his living his life in Alberta. After moving to Langley, BC, he eventually found himself and wife Rose following work to Lillooet. The couple quickly settled into Lillooet’s close knit community, making friends and working hard to establish roots in their new found home.
Very much a “handyman”, Rick would quickly become known around town for his skills and knowledge of many trades. He was always eager to help friends and neighbors and showed this by lending a helping hand or his expertise whenever he saw the opportunity to do so.
Rick is sadly missed by his wife, Rose, sons James, Kory (Sara), and Dustin, Parents John and Ines, brothers Kenny, Jesse and Rainey, godchild Alisha, nephews, nieces, aunts, granddaughter Annika, and his dog “Bear”
A private memorial service was held in Chilliwack, BC this past week. An additional “Celebration of Life” will be held in Lillooet at a later date.
