It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wallace (Wally) William McCulloch on February 19th, 2012 at the age of 60 years.
Wally is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Gerrie; his children Michelle (Jason) Wolsky and Michael (Tammy) McCulloch and his grandchildren Piper, Eli, William and Ava; his sisters Edie (Ken) Rothenberger, Florence (Mike) Mynio and his nieces and nephews Amber (Gary), Kendall, Josh, Joyce (Harlen), Danny (Jody), Logan and Sawyer and many other family and friends.
Wally was predeceased by his parents Jim and Marie McCulloch.
Wally was born on August 7, 1951 in Jasper, Alberta and grew up in McBride, BC. He began his career with the BC Forest Service in 1973 as a Forest Ranger with fire protection which was his great passion. He worked with both Fire Trol and FP Innovations. He loved being in the thick of fire season and could always be found amidst the smoke with a smile on his face.
Family was very important to Wally and he loved nothing more than to spend time, with his grandchildren and his beloved dog Jake down at the beach. He was well known for his infamous hot wings and ability to find humor in every situation.
A Memorial Service will be held this Saturday, February 25th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kamloops Yacht Club, 1140 River St.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer down on the beach.
The family would like to thank Dr. Francois Malan and Dr. Gabriel for their excellent care and support, the RCMP, BC Ambulance, Kamloops Fire and Rescue and the BC Coroner Service.
Should friends desire, donations can be made to the charity of their choice.
Service arrangements entrusted to Personal Alternatives Funeral Services @ 250-554-2324.
