NICOLLE, William James (Bill) age,87 died peacefully at home on February 22, 2012, beloved husband of the late Mariana C. Nicolle (Cardno). He was the son of the late Major Everett J. Nicolle, E.D. and Mary C. Hull, loved father of Jack Nicolle (Lori Anne), Judy Mitchell, Sally Austin (James), Patricia Nicolle, and Terry Woods (Martin). Grandfather of Leslie Sohm (Jason), Amy Cormier,( Marc), David Nicolle (Jennifer) and Graham Nicolle (Danielle); Nicolle Mitchell, Tony Mitchell (Jamie), Angela Melanson (Jason), and Patrick Mitchell(Ashley) . Adored by his nine great-grandchildren. Brother of Rev. Donald Nicolle, the late Marion (Greenham), Pilot Officer Jack Nicolle (R.C.A.F.), and Petty Officer Harold Nicolle (R.C.N.). He will be sadly missed by Laura Friesen of Virginia. Bill was a long-term member of Christ Church, Amherst and served on the vestry for 28 years. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the VON and for the YMCA. He is a charter member of the Y's Men's Club and a 50-year member of Air Force Association of Canada. He served as a Navigator in the R.C.A.F. during WW II. A funeral service will be held at Christ Church, Amherst on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MS Society of Nova Scotia, VON, Christ Church or a charity of your choice.
