King, William Peter “Bill” , age 72, passed away peacefully February 22, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Truro, Nova Scotia on April 8, 1939. He was the son of the late Elmer and Ruth (Dryden) King of Onslow. Bill resided in Bible Hill, Colchester County. Dad was a retired employee of Stanfield’s Ltd., Truro. Dad was also an active member of the Disabled Consumers Society of Colchester Co. acting as bingo chairperson and past president. He was also a member of R.C.A.F. 102 Wing, Truro. He was known for his volunteer work, quick wit and jokes. He loved to go dancing, fishing, playing cards, being with his family and was the first to lend a helping hand when needed. Bill is survived by sister, Marg (Phil) Collins, Truro, NS; brother, Carl King, Winnipeg, MB; son, Arthur King, Truro, NS; daughters, Shelly King, Truro, NS, Christine (Darrell) Olson, Barrie, ON; grandchildren, Kristen, Adam, Dana, Erica, Martina, Brennen, Mitchell and Hanna. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Donna (Daniels) King; parents, Elmer and Ruth King, Onslow, NS; sister, Hazel McSwain, Truro, NS; brother, Jimmy King AB. As requested by Bill, there will be no service or visitation held. There will be a celebration of his life February 25 at 2 pm at R.C.A.F. 102 Wing. Donations can be made to a charity of choice.
