COSENS 1924 ~ 2007 Andrew Sterling Cosens of Kamloops passed away on March 10, 2007 at 83 years of age. Survived by his loving wife Rita, children Bonnie Beattie of Kamloops, B.C., Andy (Elouise) Cosens of Nelson, B.C., Mackenzie Cosens of Kamloops, B.C.; grandchildren Kim (Terina) and Kevin (Shelly) Lindley, Andrew, Daniel and Melissa Cosens; great grandchildren Savanna, Mason, Aurora and Brooke Lindley; sisters Jean (Lonzo) Turner, and Joyce (Herb) Russel, brother-in-law Bernard O'Reilly, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Predeceased by his father John Arthur and mother Emma Viola, siblings Charlie (Rose), Margaret (Ralph) Morton, Gladys (Elphege) Marion, John (Maureen) Howard, Florence Clarke, Gerald and Thelma Chadsey. Andrew was born on July 3, 1924 at home in Pouce Coupe, 7 miles out of Dawson Creek. One of 11 children, Andrew joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and served in the European Theatre until the end of World War II. After that he went north to Yellowknife, married Rita in 1946, and their first child was born in 1947. They moved to Pouce Coupe and joined the Forest Service in 1948 and worked for the Forest Service until his retirement. His most important choices were anything to help his friends and family. He loved people. Memorial Donations may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice House or the charity of your choice. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2007 at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Canon Jack Phelps officiating.
