With heavy hearts, we, the family of Diane Genter announce the sudden passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many.
Diane passed away Friday, March 19, 2012, at the ICU, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Jeanette (Hines) Williams.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Debbie (Brian), Porters Lake; her sons, James (Kelly) and Gregory ‘Nick’ (Wina), both in Florence; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Akayla, Trystan and Nikolas; her only great-grandson, baby Carson; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her sisters Janice (Jeff), Fort McMurray, Violet (Mike), North Sydney, and Jackie (Bud), Florence; her brothers, Bill and Paul, Fort McMurrayl and her very special goddaughter, Sheila Jessome.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband John, her sisters, Yvonne and Mae and her niece Linda.
Visitation today (Monday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m. in St. Stephen's Church, Florence, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Sydney Mines at a later date.
There will be a luncheon in St. Stephen’s Church Hall following the service.
