YLIOJA - The passing of Willard Carl Ylioja of Swift Current and formerly of Lucky Lake, SK, occurred on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the Cypress Hills Hospital in Swift Current at the age of 69 years. Willard is survived by his wife, Edna of Swift Current; his family, Jeanette (Edgar) Pearson of Swift Current, Denise (Lauri) Nevala of Longview, WA, Ardell Ylioja of Lucky Lake; five grand-children, Travis and Jason Pearson and Jenica, Brent and Derek Nevala; five sisters, Lorraine (Ray) Hillukka of Menahga, MN, Jean Keller of Regina, Doreen (Lorne) Bursaw of Saskatoon and Eunice (Vic) Ippolitto of Kisby, SK, and Bonnie (Richard) Hendrickson of Buffalo, MN; one brother, Clayton (Maxine) Ylioja of Birsay, SK; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was predeceased by his first wife, Adela (1979); sister, Lynne (Ray) Babcock; brother, Dennis and infant brother, Paul and infant sister, Joyce. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, December 4, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at the Lucky Lake Community Hall, Lucky Lake, SK with Dean Simonson officiating. Pallbearers were Travis Pearson, Jason Pearson, Brent Nevala, Derek Nevala, Neil Ylioja, and Jody Keller. Honourary pallbearers were Dave and Vi Cook, Jeff Cook, Fred Rempel, Jessie Kemppainen, Dave and Chris Bender, and Elmer and Margaret Bender. Eulogy read by Dr. Steve Adams. Ushers were Todd Ylioja and Francis Talbot. Guest register, Ken and Brneda Ylioja. Pianist was Carla Simonson with Hymns of The Lord’s My Shepherd, How Boundless Lord, and Is your Measure Of Grace. A duet was performed by Brent Nevala and Derek Nevala of If I Could Sing With 1000 Voices. Interment in the Highland Cemetery, Rock Point, SK.
