You made me promise you three little things
Before you grew your heavenly wings.
The first was to take you home with me
And that I did so happily.
The Second was to hold you oh so tight
Throughout the day and through the night.
I held you close until you passed,
The pain I felt will always last.
The Third was not to let you go,
So in the hospital I held you so.
Now inspirit you will always be,
But in my heart you're here with me.
Oct. 23, 1971, I placed that ring,
And made you mine.
Our time together was meant to be,
My husband and friend forever will be.
We made those vows that made me whole,
To love forever our only goal.
And even today those vows I have kept,
A million tears and more I have wept.
Thirty seven years of married bliss,
Off all these things Harold it's you I miss.
So when I cry and when I weep,
I'll dream of you when I'm asleep.
Forever loved and deeply missed by wife Shirley.
